Posted for Public Comment - A draft of ATSDR's Public Health Reviews of Hazardous Waste Thermal Treatment Technologies has been made available on ATSDR's Web site for public comment until April 23, 2001.

Posted for Public Comment - A draft of ATSDR's Malathion: Chemical Technical Summary for Public Health and Public Safety Professionals has been made available on ATSDR's Web site for public comment until May 5, 2001.

Camp Lejeune, NC - Some drinking water wells in operation at Camp Lejeune prior to 1985 were found to be contaminated with trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE), used as degreasers and dry cleaning solvents. ATSDR is now seeking women who were pregnant while living in base housing at Camp Lejeune from 1968 to 1985 to participate in a survey. [ Details ]

Tarpon Springs, Florida - The Ombudsman Report of Findings and Recommendations Regarding the Stauffer Chemical Company Site, Tarpon Springs, Florida (PDF 1.5 MBytes) is available on the ATSDR Web site. The file may be viewed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free from www.adobe.com. Fort Ord, California - The Monterey County Health Department and Fort Ord have asked ATSDR to review the possible health effects associated with burning brush and debris on ranges at Fort Ord.

Mirror Site - ATSDR, in collaboration with the Toxic Oil Syndrome Research Centre (CISAT) of the Institute of Health Carlos III, Madrid, Spain, has established an ATSDR mirror website in Spain.

New Addition - Information on ATSDR's new special initiative, Alaska Native Subsistance and Dietary Contaminants Program, is now available on this Web site.

Update - The Summer/Fall 2000 issue of ATSDR's newsletter Hazardous Substances & Public Health is now available on ATSDR's Web site.

Collaboration - With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, ATSDR has agreed to collaborate with the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB). As part of the collaboration, ATSDR will assist the CSB as it investigates chemical incidents. [ Details ] Exiting the ATSDR Web Site.

New Addition - GATHERTM, ATSDR's interactive map server, provides interactive mapping of hazardous waste sites. Maps include many data layers such as population, demographics, hydrology, and more.

Anniston, Alabama - The Exposure Investigation Report on the Solutia Inc./Monsanto PCB Site in Anniston, Alabama is now available online.

Paper - Report of the Expert Panel Workshop on Psychological Responses to Hazardous Substances is now available.

Health Professionals: Assistance Needed - If you are a health professional and not an expert in environmental health, ATSDR needs your assistance in Pilot Testing ATSDR's Case Studies in Environmental Medicine (CSEM).

Libby, Montana (Update) - An Overview of the Libby Community Environmental Health Project is available.
